Among my friends I've always been the childish one: still dreaming about a seventeen-forever birthday party filled with confetti, pinata's, crowns and above all a cake to blow out, having Disney Land on the top of my list of places I want to go and generally being naive and overwhelmed by the world. I feel like it's time to turn the page and start working on myself some more. For the past eighteen years I've been a very standard girl, granted I had my own interests and I wasn't particularly normal but I never really took something I liked and stuck to it. I do not play the guitar or any other instrument, I do a girl scout or a part of any other group, I do not have any skills. Ouch. What have I been doing up until now?
Here's to waking up and now searching for the light! Please don't be frightened by change and don't get depressed about this I AM A NOBODY rant, you and I have all the potential in the world to... be.
Where I want to be and who do I want to become
If in five years you see yourself around the world, in different cities year by year or rather in your favorite place in the world Paris/Rome/New York, start thinking ahead. Perhaps learning a new language is a good move, or just creating a mood board with everything you want out of daily life. Who are you dreaming of being? Think about what you see yourself doing in the near future, being a vegetarian, working out, learning a new skill. Its best to start implementing routines and being honest about what you think is attainable or not.
Set goals
Lets say you kind-off want to get better at cooking, make yourself get out there and do it. Take lessons, sign yourself up for competitions, set regular appointments with friends or family (going running with your sister is more fun anyway). Stick to your obligations, don't let yourself and others down.
Stay focussed
Surround yourself with inspirational quotes or have your dreams on a pedestal so you can admire it every morning. Keep busy with your goals and keep setting the bar higher. Let those closest know what you're up to so they can keep you on the right track. But carrying a personal journal can also help you, this site called chains can also urge you to keep on with your routines. Here's a link: x
So for myself I have made a small list of things I want to attain (gosh what a new-years resolution list).
I also made a 101 things in 1001 day challenge with fun stuff I wouldn't regularly do and which I think is going to teach me new things or just get me out of my comfort zone. I'll post some updates about the list, here's a link: x
Keep in mind that who you are now is not the enemy! There's nothing wrong with working on yourself to be better but don't take it out on you in the process.
Love,
Naomi
